The Robert W. Nolan Scholarship will be awarded to members, spouses, and dependent biological, step or adoptive children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of current FRA members in good standing. Preference will be given to applicants enrolled in courses of study at the post-graduate level. Students may apply for Foundation scholarships if they are affiliated with the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard through their own service or that of a spouse, parent, grandparent or great-grandparent. FRA members in good standing, their spouses, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren are eligible for a wider range of Foundation scholarships. Applicants may be current high school students, trade school/community college freshmen and college freshmen, current undergraduate students, or graduate students and doctoral candidates. Scholarship recipients must attend an accredited U.S. trade school, community college, college or university. Applicants may submit their SAT/ACT scores, if applicable. They must also submit a School and Community Activities Sheet. All applicants are also required to submit exactly two recommendations, one academic and one community. The Foundation awards scholarships to recipients based on financial need, academic standing, character and leadership qualities.
