The Southeast Missouri State University International Academic Excellence Award is for beginning freshmen. If high school was done in a country where SEMO requires an English proficiency test for admission, students must have a 6.5 IELTS Academic, or 79 TOEFL iBT, or 3.9 iTEP, or 53 PTE Academic, or 110 Duolingo English. If high school was done in a country where SEMO does not require an English proficiency test for admission, students must have a 27 or above ACT, or 1280 or above SAT (ERW+Math). The test score is waived if high school was done in a country where SEMO does not require an English proficiency test for admission and the student has completed one of the following: O-levels (Cambridge, Pearson Edexcel, or Zimsec), IB (English-only curriculum), and West African Examination Council. GPA is evaluated for scholarship purposes based on the highest level the applicant has completed at the time of application. The application deadline for the fall semester is June 1, 2024, and the deadline for the spring semester is November 1, 2024. Students may contact Student Financial Services for more information.
