Spirit of Youth Scholarship for Junior Members

Description

The American Legion Auxiliary annually provides one Junior member in each of the five American Legion Auxiliary divisions with a $5,000 scholarship. Candidates for this award shall be/shall have been Junior members of the American Legion Auxiliary, have held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary for the past three consecutive years (2018, 2019, and 2020), and must be a paid member for the current (2021) membership year. Applicant must continue her membership in the American Legion Auxiliary during the scholarship period. Applicants must present the completed application to their local American Legion Auxiliary unit president on or before March 1, 2021. The following four letters of recommendation are required: One letter, from either the principal or guidance counselor of the school from which the applicant will graduate, to include size of class; studentÔÇÖs position in the class; and the cumulative grade point average or homeschool equivalent. One letter from a clergyman/clergywoman of the applicantÔÇÖs choice.
