Description

The AFCEA Educational Foundation offers scholarships of $2,500 to students actively pursuing a graduate degree or credential/licensure for the purpose of teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering or math) subjects at K-12 U.S. school. The scholarships are made possible by generous contributions from ManTech International Corporation and AFCEA International. Students enrolled in distance-learning or online programs should email the Educational Foundation office for clarification on eligibility and include a link to their program. Graduate-level candidates must currently be in at least their second semester and taking at least two (2) semester-equivalent courses per term at accredited college or university in the United States and majoring in education for the purpose of teaching STEM subjects in a U.S. school in grades K-12 at the time of application. A current overall GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale in their current program at an accredited U.S. college or university required at the time of application. Have completed B.S. degree in a STEM major. Expected graduation date cannot be in the year the scholarship is awarded. In a brief personal statement, explain how your academic and career goals align to the mission of AFCEA Educational Foundation. Minimum two letters of recommendation required from faculty in the major of study. If currently employed as a teacher, one additional letter from the school principal. Instructions for electronic submission of the recommendation letters will be provided to the endorsers automatically as part of the on-line application process - please do not mail separately. Letters of Recommendation are not accepted from applicants. If the endorser does not receive the email, letters can be emailed to edfoundation@afcea.org. If electronic submission is not possible, please send official document to the AFCEA address listed above to arrive by midnight of the deadline date. No applications are accepted on the deadline date.
