Established in 1929, the Tau Beta Pi Fellowship Program recognizes and supports outstanding members who plan to pursue graduate education that advances the engineering profession. Fellowships are awarded on the basis of scholarship, leadership and service, and the promise of substantial achievement. Applications are welcome from members or candidates for membership who will be initiated by May 1 and will be enrolled beginning Fall 2025. Students may apply in the last year of their B.S. program or during the M.S. portion of the program. They are also eligible to apply for a scholarship in the third or fourth year of their B.S. program. Applicants must submit recommendations that address their promise of substantial achievement. Suggestions for current students are research mentors, faculty who know them outside of the classroom and can address their academic abilities, and supervisors in engineering related experiences. Members, who are more than 2-3 years post-graduation, should ask supervisors who can address their potential to successfully complete a graduate program; some of these qualities are working independently, ability to complete a project, and leadership.
