Tennessee HOPE Scholarship

Description

The Tennessee HOPE Scholarship is established and funded from the net proceeds of the state lottery and awarded to entering freshmen who are enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution within 16 months after graduating from an eligible high school in Tennessee. Students in four-year institutions and two-year institutions with on-campus housing may receive up to $2,250 per full-time enrollment semester as a freshman and sophomore; then up to $2,850 per full-time enrollment semester as a junior and senior. Students in two-year institutions may receive up to $1,600 per full-time enrollment semester as a freshman and sophomore. Only courses leading to a student's eligible program of study (associate or baccalaureate degree program) can be awarded under the HOPE Scholarship program. The application deadlines for students enrolled in two-year and four-year eligible postsecondary institutions or Tennessee College of Applied Technology institutions are September 1 for the Fall Semester, March 1 for the Spring Semester, and May 1 for the Summer Semester. A student with a documented medical disability, as certified by a licensed physician, who can only enroll part-time because of the disability may appeal to TSAC for an extension to the five year limit as long as the student continues to meet all applicable academic and nonacademic requirements for the HOPE Scholarship and ten years have not passed since the student's initial enrollment at a postsecondary institution. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information about the scholarship eligibility requirements and the scholarship itself.
