The Caxton Club Fellowship for Midwestern Bibliographers supports bibliographical research that focuses on the physical aspects of books or manuscripts as historical evidence. Books and manuscripts in any field and of any period are eligible for consideration. Applicants must be midwestern bibliographers. Eligibility is limited to BAS members; US citizens and residents; and citizens of other nations without US residency who wish to conduct research outside of the United States only. Applicants must submit the project title; their curriculum vitae; and a project proposal that should include a statement of the project's broader significance, a description of the specific research the applicant plans to undertake with the support of a BSA fellowship, a description of the materials the applicant hopes to consult, and a brief budget and timeline for the proposed project. One letter of recommendation written by a person competent to judge the project's significance is also required. Applicants who have not received BSA fellowships in the previous five years will be given preference.
