The Roy F. and Joann Cole Mitte Foundation Scholarship Program

Description

The Mitte Foundation has established the Roy F. and Joann Cole Mitte Foundation Scholarship Program to assist local high school seniors who plan to continue their education in colleges or universities in the state of Texas. Applicants must be a high school senior graduating in Spring 2026 from a high school located in one of the eligible Texas counties. Home-schools students residing in the designated counties are eligible to apply. The awards granted will be $10,000 each for students enrolled in four-year colleges and $5,000 each for students enrolled in two-year colleges. Scholarship awards are renewable for up to three years if attending a four-year school or up to one year if attending a two-year school. All applicants are required to submit three online recommendations. Public school students will need to submit a complete transcript of grades; Transcript Information Form completed by the appropriate school official; and a copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040. Private and charter school students will need to submit a complete transcript of grades; Notarized Curriculum Form; and a copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040. Home school students will need to submit a complete transcript of grades; Notarized Transcript Verification Form; Notarized Curriculum Form; and a copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040. At the end of each award year, students must submit a resume listing the number of hours they worked at their current job and any leadership positions held; a copy of their transcript including their name, school name, grades and credit hours; a personal essay outlining what type of community involvement they had during the prior 12 months; and a letter of recommendation attesting to their volunteer activities and leadership abilities.
