The Thomas E. and Marianne M. Stenvig Scholarship aims to support a registered nurse in pursuit of his educational goals. Applicants must have a current South Dakota RN license. Applicants must be RN pursuing a graduate degree (Master's or Doctoral degree) in nursing (preferred) or a related field in an accredited program. SDNA membership is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate evidence of leadership, compassion, involvement in professional organization(s), professional activities, and community service. A copy of the admission letter must be submitted if the applicant is admitted but not yet enrolled. Two letters of recommendation addressing criteria that are specific to this scholarship's criteria are required. At least one letter of recommendation should be from a faculty member with whom the applicant has had their most recent nursing program experience.
