WASP Elaine D. Harmon Tailwheel Scholarship

Description

In memory of WASP pilot Elaine D. Harmon, this scholarship will provide monetary awards to fund tailwheel endorsement training. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and assist pilots to become involved in the warbird and vintage aircraft community to keep these historic airplanes flying. Warbirds and vintage airplanes bring a piece of history to the aviation community and help educate the public. The tailwheel endorsement is generally a requirement to pursue a warbird pilot rating. Accordingly, this scholarship is intended to support a pilot who is interested in further training to fly warbirds or vintage planes. The funds will be paid directly to the training provider and must be used within one year of receiving the award. Applicants must be a current member of Women in Aviation International by October 1, 2024, and their membership must not expire before March 2025. Two professional letters of recommendation are required. Letters may not be from family members. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Women in Aviation International for more information.
