YoungArts Photography Award

Description

Photography is one of 10 artistic disciplines in YoungArts' national competition. This discipline accepts all forms of photography including: documentary, conceptual, portrait, environment, color, black and white, alternative processes, digital, and mixed media. Applicants may either be a citizen of the United States, a permanent resident/green card recipient, or someone who can demonstrate that they are legally able to receive taxable income in the United States. Applicants must also be in grades 10-12 or 15-18 years of age on December 1 of the year they are applying. Applicants must submit a portfolio that must include a total of ten images, either: Two unified photo series with five images in each series. The series of photographs should be unified by concept, theme, aesthetics and/or subject matter. Or one unified photo series with ten images. It is only recommended that one series of 10 may be submitted if it's an in-depth, long-term project that reflects the applicant's capacity as a photographer.
