Introduction | Chapman University Graduate School: Argyros School of Business and Economics

Established in 1861, Chapman University is a private, coeducational university located in Orange, California, in the western region of the United States. 

Created in 1977, the Argyros School of Business and Economics offers graduate degrees in business, accounting, real estate and economics. Argyros School of Business and Economics is named after George L. Argyros, a former Chapman student and U.S. Ambassador to Spain. Argyros offers a challenging and innovative curriculum, offered with a choice of executive (EMBA), flexible and full-time programs. 

Argyros is accredited under the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and is ranked #4 by US News & World Report as the top Private MBA Program in California. 

The 2020 U.S. News and World Report ranks Chapman University as one of the best colleges in America and in 2019, Chapman University was ranked 5th among master’s-level universities in the Western U.S.

The Chapman University Graduate School, Argyros School of Business and Economics is proud to offer the following nationally recognized graduate programs: 

Full Time MBA

Full time MBA is ranked #85 nationwide and #9 in California by US News & World Report, and #73 by Bloomberg Businessweek

Flexible MBA

Offered as a highly flexible format, allowing students to customize their pathway with weekday classes at a part time or full time pace.  

Executive MBA 

For ambitious managers and executives who want to gain the skills and intellectual confidence to lead in a competitive marketplace. 

Accelerated MBA 

Also referred to as 4+1, this program is offered to current Chapman University undergrads. Students begin taking MBA coursework in their senior year, and earn an MBA degree one year after completing their undergraduate studies. 

MS Real Estate 

Designed to prepare students for a career in real estate development, and finance and/or investment. 

MS Accounting 

Created to assist graduates prepare for the California CPA exam and earn credits that are necessary for CPA licensure, while obtaining a master’s degree. 

Accelerated MSA 

Accessible to current Chapman University undergraduate students registered in the BS in Accounting Program, this program allows students to begin taking MS in Accounting Coursework during their senior year and earn a MS in Account Degree within one year of finishing their undergraduate studies. 

MBA/MFA Film and TV Producing 

A rewarding program designed for students seeking a management or executive level position at a production company, talent agency, studio or television network. 

MBA/MS Food Science 

Designed for students who currently work or intend to move into the food manufacturing and/or food production industries. 

Juris Doctor/MBA 

This joint program allows students to earn both the JD and MBA degrees simultaneously and can be completed full-time in four years. 

Prague MBA 

Students can complete this program in 17 months, offering a unique opportunity for Chapman University to study at Anglo-American University in Prague. 

MS Behavioral & Computational Economics

Offered through the Economic Science Institute, this program uses the laboratory method of inquiry to study the role human institutions play in creating social rules and order.

Chapman University offers an accelerated graduate program. Current undergraduate students interested in working on their Master’s Degree while earning their Bachelor’s Degree can take advantage of this opportunity. Prospective students are encouraged to review the Graduate Application Deadlines based on their particular graduate program. Programs that accept applications after the deadline on a space-available basis will be noted. Please visit the Application page to view a particular program application and requirements. 

A non-refundable application fee is $60 through the online application system. Students are required to submit all official transcripts; applications will not be considered complete until all materials are received. Most programs require a minimum of two letters of recommendation. Some programs require a statement of intent with specific information included in your statement.

The Chapman University Harriet S. Salmon Interest Free Loan is an interest free loan awarded through the Office of Financial Aid. For information on eligibility for this type of loan, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 714-997-6741. 

Students interested in need-based financial aid should submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the California Dream Act Application if they are not eligible for federal financial aid.
