AACAP Ulku Ulgur, MD, International Scholar Award

Description

This award recognizes a child psychiatrist or physician in the international community who has made significant contributions to the enhancement of mental health services for children and adolescents. All even-numbered years awards will be from Turkey. The award in all odd-numbered years (2019, 2021, etc.) will be from any non-U.S. country. Applicants must be either a child and adolescent psychiatrist or a physician in the international community at the time of AACAPs Annual Meeting. Applicants from Turkey will be defined as follows: Turkish living in Turkey, Turkish living abroad, Non-Turkish living in Turkey, Non-Turkish who did work in Turkey, and is now living abroad. The same eligibility requirements (categories) noted above for Applicants from Turkey will be the same requirements for all other applicants to AACAPs lk lgr, MD, International Scholar Award. Dual nationals are not excluded. Child and adolescent psychiatrist applicants are encouraged to be an AACAP member or have membership pending at time of application. Application materials/information needed: A Curriculum Vitae (CV). Contact information, including a current email address and phone number. Proof of AACAP membership (for child and adolescent psychiatrists only). Personal statement (no longer than 500 words). Applications will be strengthened by a plan to use attendance at AACAPs Annual Meeting to further enhance the work for which the individual has been awarded. At the completion of their experience, awardees will be required to write and provide an article for AACAP News, highlighting their experience. In addition, they will be required to develop a plan outlining how to strengthen mental health services for children and adolescents in their country.
