This award is intended for the AHNA to recognize reporters, editors, other media personnel and citizens, websites, and mobile apps that have effectively delivered Holistic Nursing messages to the public. Target audience for the media piece is the public at large. Nurses, their perspectives, and nursing are presented accurately and without stereotyping. Nurses are sources for the media piece when appropriate. Nurses in the media pieces are identified as nurses. The story reports on a topic of Holistic Nursing with depth and accuracy. Standards of ethical journalism are followed. Consideration will be given to the total audience reached. May have triggered additional media coverage or policy change. Items must have aired or been published within a year between the annual AHNA Conferences. One letter of nomination and support from an AHNA member with documentation of the candidate's media that has effectively delivered a Holistic Nursing message to the public must be submitted. Newspaper, magazine, video, etc. that features the nominated media piece(s) must also be provided. Applications may be sent through email, fax, or mail.
