The Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) and its educational and research organization, the ET Foundation (ETF), are inviting students interested in product design, industrial design, design engineering, manufacturing, and other fields from around the world to share their vision for the future using aluminum extrusions. The Design Competition rewards creativity, innovation and ingenuity, improved process and product improvement. We want to see your unique ideas for aluminum profile applications in a variety of markets to help show the versatility of aluminum extrusions. High school, undergraduate, graduate, trade and vocational/technical and design school students are eligible to enter the competition. Students must be enrolled in and attending school to enter. Individual and team submissions will be accepted. Each student on the team must complete and submit an official entry form with the submission. To enter, applicants must design a product that incorporates at least one extruded aluminum profile (custom designs are preferred, however, product designs that incorporate standard shapes will also be considered). Entries may be mailed by post or submitted through email. When mailing your entry materials, you must include in the body of the email a list of the items you are attaching to your message. Applicants may include as much support material with as much detail as possible that illustrates the design, its utility, and practicality. Please visit the award's website for more information.
