The Carol Stephens SWE Region F Scholarship was initially endowed in 2013 by funds from SWE New England Region F in recognition of Carol's promotion of engineering as a career for young women. Applicants may pursue or be pursuing any engineering major. First choice is for the applicant to attend a college or university within the Region F boundaries. Second choice would be for the applicant's home address to be within the Region F boundaries. Financial need is preferred. Those who identify as a woman and pursue an ABET-accredited bachelor or graduate student program may apply for this scholarship. Students who attend an ABET-accredited community college program full-time are also eligible. A personal reference and STEM reference are required. The personal reference must be a person who has known the applicant for two or more years and who is not a relative or member of the applicant's family. For the STEM reference, it is highly recommended that the reference be someone in a STEM field who is familiar with the applicant's academic work.
