The Carolina Covenant is a financial aid package and network of support that provides an opportunity for students who qualify to attend and graduate from UNC-Chapel Hill debt-free. The Carolina Covenant Scholarship aims to support students from families with a total income that is 200 percent below the federal poverty guideline. Eligibility for all financial aid - including the Carolina Covenant - is automatically assessed with the general financial aid application process; there is no separate application process. The application deadline for the Fall semester to be considered for the University Aid is June 15, 2025, and the application deadline for the Spring semester to be considered for the University Aid is February 1, 2026.
