The Charles H. Bussmann Undergraduate Scholarship will be awarded to students currently enrolled in a marine-related field, with a focus on marine technology, marine engineering, or marine science. Outgoing high school seniors are eligible to apply for an MTS scholarship if they have been accepted into a marine studies program. One letter of recommendation is required from a teacher, counselor, professor, advisor, co-op or internship supervisor in a marine-related course(s), performed research for or received advice from within the past two years. For high school seniors, the recommendation must be from a current teacher in any field, however a science teacher is preferred. One letter of reference (character reference) is also required from someone the applicant knows who is not a teacher, counselor, advisor or professor. This letter is to highlight the qualities, characteristics, and capabilities of the scholarship applicant.
