Fulbright Canada and Carleton University have established dedicated research chairs in support of educational programming and research. This opportunity will allow extraordinary American scholars and top-tier applied researchers to spend one academic year as a visiting research scholar working in a targeted area of academic inquiry. A letter of invitation is optional. Scholars selected for this award can choose to conduct a research project designated by the host institution, conduct a research project of their choosing, and conduct a professional and/or artistic project. Four types of award are available: Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chairs in Arts and Social Sciences in Canada and North America; Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chairs in Entrepreneurship and/or Social Innovation; Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chairs in Environmental Science; and Fulbright Canada Distinguished Chairs in Public Affairs in North America: Society, Policy, Media.
