Distinguished Scholars are sought in all academic disciplines, with awards available for one or two academic semesters (4 or 10 months, respectively). Distinguished scholars are anticipated to participate in the research and academic life of the department in which they are placed, while teaching one course (graduate or undergraduate) each semester of residence. Applications are sought in all disciplines. Final grant amounts will be determined prior to the start of the academic year and are subject to the availability of funds. The United States Department of State and the Fulbright Commission in the host country reserve the right to alter, without notice, participating countries, number of awards and allowances.
