Distinguished Scholar in Humanities and Social Sciences at the American Studies Center, University of Warsaw

Description

The award holder will teach one graduate course per semester on a topic of their choosing. The course, a research proseminar, will consist of 135-minute sessions, once a week, for 15 weeks. The Distinguished Scholar will also be expected to give public lectures, advise graduate students, and generally engage in the academic life of the ASC. Final grant amounts will be determined prior to the start of the academic year and are subject to the availability of funds. The United States Department of State and the Fulbright Commission in the host country reserve the right to alter, without notice, participating countries, number of awards and allowances. The Distinguished Scholar can be awarded only to preeminent American Studies scholars with an outstanding publication record in their fields. Candidates are expected to have an extensive teaching experience. It is expected that the candidate will hold a Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences and have at least 10 years of teaching experience. A letter of invitation is preferred.
