Description

The E.E. Black Scholarship Fund memorializes E.E. Black, chairman and president of The Gas Company, now Par Hawaii Refining. He is credited with revitalizing the company which was in danger of failing when he took charge. To recognize Mr. Black's numerous contributions, this fund was established in his honor. The scholarships go to dependents of employees at Par Hawaii Refining. Preference is for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing. The donor requires applicants to be a dependent of an employee of Par Hawaii Refining. The employee must be full-time and employed for at least six months prior to the application deadline.
