The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America awards scholarships annually to outstanding members in Texas. This scholarship offers $1,000 over the course of 2 semesters. Students must major in Family and Consumer Sciences at a four year Texas college or university. To be eligible, applicants must be a 2023 graduate of a Texas high school, have an overall high school grade average of 85, have completed one or more years of Family and Consumer Sciences in high school, and meet the entrance requirements of Texas college or university which offers a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. Applicants must also complete the universal application. Recipients must attend the Texas FCCLA State Leadership Conference held in the spring to accept their scholarship. In the event a recipient does not attend, the scholarship will be awarded to an alternative winner. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation and test scores of American College Testing (ACT) and/or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
