Fellowships are awarded to musicians based in the United States (although not necessarily U.S. citizens) for whom this would be the first extended period of study abroad. Musicians who have previously studied abroad for an extended period do not qualify for a fellowship. Applicants must not have reached the age of 30 by July 1, 2025. Applicants must demonstrate a solid base of accomplishment in order to be considered. A strong, well-planned project of study that will enhance the applicant's life in music must be proposed. Enrollment in a school or university is not required unless such study is an essential part of the project. Applicants must submit at least two letters of recommendation. Applicants may submit more if they wish. Candidates who advance will need to submit a video audition for review no later than March 8th, 2025. Candidates must be the principal performer in these recordings, which should total 20-30 minutes in length and contain selections of the candidates choice. Please do not send recordings unless you are notified of the results of the first round.
