Freedom Alliance Scholarship Fund

Description

The Freedom Alliance Scholarship fund is for the children of military personnel who have been killed or permanently disabled in an combat mission or training accident. Applicant should be the dependent son or daughter of a U.S. Soldier, Sailor, Airman, Guardsman or Marine who has: been killed in action, become 100% total & permanently disabled as a direct result of a combat mission, or suffered a major limb amputation due to enemy action. (Qualifying parent must have received an Honorable Discharge.), been classified as a Prisoner of War (POW) or Missing in Action (MIA), been awarded the Medal of Honor, the Navy Cross, the Distinguished Service Cross, the Air Force Cross, or the Coast Guard Cross, been involved in a training accident that resulted in the death of the service member or caused an immediate inability to continue serving (100% total and permanently disabled). Students wishing to apply for a Freedom Alliance Scholarship should first review the qualification and eligibility requirements to verify that they do indeed qualify for the Freedom Alliance scholarship. Upon receiving your application, Freedom Alliance will notify you by mail and/or email of the Scholarship Boards review and decision. All applicants must complete the online application and be ready to upload the required documentation before they are able to complete and submit the application. If you are found to be eligible by the reviewing committee, there will be a few additional steps that will be included in your notification letter/email which will include a form to be completed by your schools financial aid office. Once these steps are completed, the reviewing committee will do a final review of applications and, if the student has a need, a scholarship check will be mailed directly to his/her school. Please note that checks will only be endorsed to your school and will be mailed directly to your schools Financial Aid or Bursars Office.
