The Herbert & Ollie Brook Fund was established by Herbert and Ollie Brook who emigrated from Europe and called Maui home. They felt so welcomed by the Maui Community they created this scholarship for graduating seniors of every high school in Maui County. The scholarship will be awarded to students who can persevere in their education and complete either a four or two year program, including vocational education, and who want to return to Maui County to give back to the communities that helped to shape them. The Hawai'i Community Foundation will give preference for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing. Preference will be given to students who can persevere and complete a program of study and to individuals who want to return to Maui County after completing their education or training in order to contribute to the community that formed them.
