Description

The James Eastland Memorial Scholarship awards $1,000 to a graduating high school senior who previously attended Hunt ISD for at least one year. Applicants must provide a summary of their extracurricular involvement, community service, and honors, along with a one-paragraph essay detailing either their future plans with a college degree or how growing up in the Hunt area influenced their perspective. Selection is based on academic achievement, civic engagement, and the strength of the submitted essay. Recipients must be accepted full-time into an accredited college or university by December 31 of the award year. This scholarship is not renewable.
