John D. Prien Jr., P.E. J.D. FSAME FNSPE FASCE Scholarship

Description

John Prien Jr., PE, JD, CAE graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, Nebraska with a degree in Civil Engineering and a Juris Doctor of Law. He is a past executive director of GSPE as well as a past president and founding member of GEF. He was an active member and officer in ASCE, SAME and NSPE and was named a fellow in each of these three organizations. He has always worked tirelessly to advance the profession of Engineering and to provide opportunities and scholarships for future engineers in the State of Georgia. Georgia Engineering Foundation is pleased to offer scholarships to freshmen, upperclassmen, and graduate students who are attending eligible engineering, engineering technology, and construction management programs. Eligible programs include current ABET-accredited undergraduate and graduate engineering/engineering technology programs and ACCE-accredited construction management programs. Only high school seniors who have been accepted to an ABET accredited program in the fall are eligible to apply. Incoming freshmen are required to provide three letters of reference. Letters of reference are best provided by non-family members who have an extended relationship with the applicant. Applicants must provide their names and email addresses. Top ranked applicants will be contacted and scheduled for interviews. Upper classmen and graduate students are required to bring an official copy of their most current transcript to the interview. If the applicant is not able to attend an on-campus interview, telephone interviews may be scheduled and conducted.
