New York Ramblers Scholarship

Description

Established in 2016 by the New York Ramblers Soccer Club, the New York Ramblers Scholarship is the only award of its kind that supports undergraduate student athletes of all sports who are members or allies of the LGBTQ+ community. Applicants from across the United States are reviewed based on their financial need, LGBTQ+ advocacy, leadership in sports, academic excellence, and potential for impact based on their career goals and aspirations. If the application portal is not working, applicants may submit their completed application as a PDF document along with all relevant attachments via email. An eligible applicant must be an athlete. All sports and athletic activities qualify. They may be an open and self-identified lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, or intersex person; or a demonstrated and committed heterosexual ally. Applicants must be a graduating high school student who plans to attend a recognized undergraduate college or university in the United States; or is an already matriculated U.S. undergraduate or graduate college student. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation by an individual who can attest to the applicant's academic dedication, community service, and/or athletics. References may not be from family members or friends. A one optional letter of recommendation may also be submitted. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
