The Robert Hattori Nakamura Scholarship was established by an anonymous donor in memory of a Carmel High School student, Robert Hattori Nakamura. Awards are to be made each year to graduating seniors, one boy and one girl, who are bound for either college or trade school. Applicants should be of good character; demonstrate financial need; have sustained records of excellent sportsmanship; have displayed outstanding team spirit in athletics; have shown a concern for the success of their teammates as student-athletes; have demonstrated strong likelihood of being able to enroll successfully as students in accredited colleges, community colleges, or universities by Fall of the year following their high school graduation.
