About Widener University
Widener has been preparing students to excel in their fields since its founding in 1821. Nationally recognized by Newsweek for a commitment to service-minded education and one of 14 finalists for the president's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll award in 2015, Widener strives to develop true leaders who inspire positive change in our community.
Widener's online Master of Business Administration (MBA) program is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an honor earned by only 5% of the world's business programs. Widener's faculty are committed to helping students tailor their MBA curriculum to their career goals. Students have the option to immerse themselves in their comprehensive general business administration track, or concentrate their studies in one of two emerging areas of business leadership: Business Process Innovation or Health Care Management. Students also have the option to pursue a Dual Degree to obtain both a Master of Jurisprudence in Corporate and Business Law and a Master of Business Administration (MJ/MBA).
Widener's online Master in Social Work (MSW) program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and prepares graduates to sit for the Licensed Social Worker (LSW) exam. By pursuing Widener's trauma-focused graduate degree, students will have the option to obtain their trauma certification, as well.
Widener's online RN-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and has been recognized again as a National League for Nursing Center of Excellence for 2017-2022. Experience speed-to-completion by choosing to complete the program in as little as two or three semesters, or at one's own pace.
Being ranked among the best in the nation, Widener is committed to connecting students with community partners and open doors to roles where they can create meaningful change throughout their community and profession. Online students will still be part of Widener's community. They have the opportunity to participate in a variety of optional events hosted virtually or on-campus. They will learn through an asynchronous platform and are never required to attend any on-campus residencies. However, all students are welcome to attend career fairs, graduation ceremonies and other events that are held on-site.
