Online Programs at Tennessee Technological University

Online programs at Tennessee Technological University prepare students for successful careers and promote life-long learning. TTU has over ten programs that are offered online and several are available in accelerated formats allowing students to finish a degree in just over a year. 

All of the university's online programs meet the same rigorous standards as traditional programs and are taught by highly qualified teachers.

Online Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program

The AACSB-accredited MBA program offers students the option to complete their degree 100% online, without any differentiation between the final degrees regardless of the learning channel (online or on campus). Program can be completed entirely online in one year of full-time study. It consists of seven core courses (21 credits) and three elective courses (nine credits).  

Online Master of Arts (MA) in Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Wellness Program

The MA in Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Wellness program offers concentrations in Sports Management, Fitness and Wellness, and three areas of teaching. It includes 30 credits of courses that can be completed in two years. The first year of study involves analyzing and improving teacher effectiveness, and the second year focuses on evaluating and improving teachers' physical education programs.

Online Master of Professional Studies Program

The Master of Professional Studies program has 33 hours of coursework including courses in one of the following concentrations: healthcare administration, human resources leadership, public safety, strategic leadership, teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), and training and development.

Online Master of Education (MEd) Program

The 33-credit MEd program in Advanced Studies in Teaching and Learning provides practicing teachers with advanced preparation in language arts and reading. Course content focuses on teachers' classroom work including assignments they can implement in their classrooms.

Online MSN Program

The MSN program can be pursued on a full-time or part-time basis entirely online (except clinical rotations). Its curriculum includes 36 to 46 credits of courses that students can customize to fit their learning needs and career goals.  

Online DNP Program

Through a joint program with East Tennessee State University, TTU now offers a 100% online Doctor of Nursing Practice degree for healthcare professionals seeking a higher level of expertise in their career field.  A Master’s degree in Nursing is not required for admission into the program.

Online Teacher Education and Non-Degree Programs

Tennessee Technological University provides Additional Endorsements programs in special education, English as a second language, and math as well as an Occupational Education License program.

The university also offers a variety of continuing education courses to help students prepare for licensing exams or satisfy training requirements. In addition, it partners with ed2go to provide online certificate programs and professional development courses in a variety of areas including healthcare and fitness, business and professional, and IT and software development.

Online Undergraduate Programs

Getting an undergraduate degree online is easy with Tennessee Tech University. Degrees in the field of business, criminal justice, and IT are available in a 100% online format including accelerated coursework. General education courses are also included in the online format. Transfer credit from other colleges may be substituted for program coursework at any point in the academic program.

Financial Aid at Tennessee Technological University

Undergraduate students may qualify for federal grants, loans, and work study jobs; state grants; and university scholarships.

Graduate students may qualify for federal loans and alternative loans (through private lenders). They may also receive scholarships like the Elsie Jobe and Jewell Nolen Memorial Scholarship and fellowships like the Diversity Fellowship. On ground students may apply for graduate assistantships.
