Fulbright Distinguished Chair in Applied Public Policy (Democratic Resilience) (Flinders University and Carnegie Mellon University Australia)

Description

This program, funded by Flinders University and Carnegie Mellon University Australia, is designed to increase the awareness of the field of applied public policy in Australia, and to promote comparative and collaborative research between Australia and the United States at Flinders University and Carnegie Mellon University Australia in the field of applied public policy, especially as related to enhancing democratic resilience. We are looking for research that contributes to a) understanding the disruptive impact of the next wave of the cyber revolution in terms of social dislocation and b) combatting international and domestic efforts to use social media to weaken social bonds to undermine trust and security in democratic societies, especially Australia and the United States. Sociology is also an eligible discipline. Please contact Professor Don DeBats from Flinders University or Professor Tim O'Loughlin and Fatima Reyes from Carnegie Mellon University Australia to obtain the required letter of invitation. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree. Applicants must submit a Project Statement, a CV or Resume, and two Letters of Recommendation.
