Loy McCandless Marks Scholarship in Tropical Horticulture

Description

To promote the study of tropical plants and their use in horticulture and landscape architecture. Provides $5000 each even-numbered year to a well-qualified graduate student or advanced undergraduate student specializing in tropical horticulture, botany, or landscape architecture. This is a complementary award, intended to supplement a student's pursuit of a previously accepted program of study abroad. Open to graduate or advanced undergraduate students. Eligibility is open to U.S. Citizens and permanent residents who are enrolled in a U.S. - based institution. This opportunity will be awarded upon verification that complete funding has been obtained for the study abroad. Travel must commence within 12 months of the award. Applications must be submitted electronically or sent by mail to be received at GCA Headquarters in New York City. Please provide a one-page budget for the travel and study proposed. Although not required, it would be helpful to include a copy of your letter of acceptance from the foreign institution.
