Description

The Margaret A. Pemberton Scholarship is for African-American students with permanent residency in the District of Columbia or one of the adjacent counties of the State of Maryland. Applicants must be a graduating senior, currently enrolled in a high school in the District of Columbia or one of the adjacent counties of the State of Maryland. They must be in good academic standing. Applicants must provide documented evidence to add support to their desirability including awards, certificates, and/or letters of commendation. Two letters of recommendation are required. One recommendation must be from a High School Counselor or Designee and one recommendation must be from a Community or church Member, who must be a non-related adult who has knowledge of the applicant's potential for success.
