June is Pride month. Officially recognized in 1999, Pride month celebrates the equality, dignity, self-affirmation, and increased visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people. Here are nine scholarships designed for LGBTQ+ students to help fund your education:

  1. Pride Foundation Scholarship Program
    This program provides scholarships to current and future lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and straight-ally student leaders from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. The scholarships cover most accredited post-secondary schools, including community colleges, four-year public or private colleges and universities, trade or certificate programs, and graduate, medical, or law school.

  2. LGBTQIA+ Scholarship
    This $5,000 scholarship aims to support students who identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning, who are interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession. Applicants must major in civil, chemical, mechanical, electrical, or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology). You must be a full-time graduate student attending a university or a four-year college in the U.S.

  3. Prism Foundation Scholarship
    The purpose of the Gay Asian Pacific Alliance (GAPA) Foundation Scholarship is to provide financial assistance to students in high school, undergraduate, graduate, or professional school, trade, or vocational school who express activism in the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) and/or lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) communities.

  4. Levin-Goffe Scholarship for LGBTQI Immigrants
    This award was established to cover up to two years of schooling for immigrants in New York City who identify as LGBTQI. Scholarships from this fund are intended to provide a measure of economic stability for those who stand at the intersection of marginalization that can be created by being both LGBTQI and an immigrant. Applicants must have a current, most recent, or cumulative GPA of at least 3.25.

  5. eQuality Scholarships for Community College Transfer Students
    eQuality scholarships for community college transfer students recognize northern and central California community college students for their service to the lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender community. Applicants must plan to attend or have begun attending an accredited four-year college or university for the first time in the award year.
    Amount awarded: $6,000
  6. PFund Foundation Scholarship Program
    The PFund Foundation Scholarship Program annually awards $60,000 in scholarships to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and allied students in recognition of their courageous leadership, community service and academic achievement. Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $10,000. Applicants must be an undergraduate student attending a four-year or two-year college, and be at least 17 years old.

  7. The Network for LGBTQIA+ Concerns in OT Endowed Scholarship
    Applicants must be currently enrolled full-time and have completed at least one year of occupational therapy specific coursework in an AOTA-accredited or developing post-professional level program OR in an occupational therapy assistant program. To be eligible, applicants must be members of the local campus Lesbian/Gay/Bi/Transgender (LGBT) organization and studying health and medical sciences, therapy/rehabilitation.

  8. Bisexual Foundation Scholarship Award
    The Bisexual Foundation Scholarship allocates up to $1,000 per award to selected graduate students to advance research on the psychology of bisexuality. This new award recognizes the growing importance of research on bisexuality to the field of LGBT issues in psychology and offers concrete support and encouragement to emerging scholars in this field. Applicants must be a full-time graduate student studying Psychology.

  9. Collum-Mallonee LGBT Scholarship Fund
    This scholarship will be awarded annually to a collegiate member who meets the required criteria including fraternity/university/community involvement, financial need, GPA, and recommendations as defined by the Leadership Foundation trustees. Applicants must be an undergraduate or graduate student in the fall following award and indicate that they are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) in order to be eligible.
