Accreditation and Licensing

Denver is located a mile above sea level, between the majestic Rocky Mountains to the west and the High Plains to the east. The Art Institute of Colorado sits in the city's artsy Golden Triangle Museum District that hosts Denver's most prominent cultural attractions in the Civic Center Cultural Complex: the Denver Art Museum, the Michael Graves-designed Central Library, the History Colorado Center, the Denver Mint, the Byers-Evans House Museum and Civic Center Park, and Acoma Street.

Denver, a former gold-rush town, is home to hundreds of restaurants, a restored historic district filled with boutiques and eateries, a collection of museums, a variety of galleries and shopping, the second-largest performing arts center in the nation, three college campuses, and even a unique downtown amusement park, Elitch Gardens. LoDo, the downtown's hip historic district, offers more than 90 brewpubs, sports bars, and music clubs. The 16th Street Mall is a mile-long pedestrian promenade lined with outdoor cafes, restaurants, and shops. Downtown also hosts three beautiful, fan-friendly sports venues: Coors Field for baseball's aptly named Rockies; the Pepsi Center, where the NBA's Nuggets and the NHL's Avalanche play; and Sports Authority Field at Mile High, home to the NFL's Broncos.

This energetic, young "mile-high" city offers 300 days of sunshine a year, with brilliant blue skies, and stunning mountain scenery. Denver is a clean and green city with more than 200 parks and dozens of tree-lined boulevards. World-class skiing and water sports are just an hour away, amid the breathtaking Rocky Mountain scenery. In the mountains and the city, there are numerous opportunities for biking, hiking, rollerblading, and other individual sports.

Denver has long been a hub of business for the Western U.S., with thriving professional organizations, major corporations, high-tech companies, top-notch retail fashion stores, hotels, restaurants, design firms, and many other creative organizations.
