Binghamton University ÔÇô State University of New York (SUNY)

Binghamton University combines an international reputation for graduate education, research, scholarship and creative endeavor with the best undergraduate programs available at any public university.

Established in 1946, Binghamton University enjoys an ever-increasing national recognition for academic quality, innovative research and scholarship, and educational value. With our growing regional presence, highlighted by the planning and on-going construction of our new Health Sciences Campus in Johnson City, N.Y., we are well-prepared to build on our role as a leader in higher education.

Binghamton University seeks graduate students who are driven — driven to learn; driven to question the status quo, innovate inside and outside classrooms; and driven to redefine the knowledge boundaries of their academic and professional fields.

Graduate Programs

Binghamton University, a nationally distinguished State University of New York (SUNY) Center of Excellence, combines the atmosphere of a mid-sized, public institution with the resources of a large research university. Binghamton University is one of the four university centers in SUNY, one of the largest systems of public higher education in the United States.

Binghamton University can now count itself among the 131 elite universities in the nation that have achieved the “very high research” classification by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.

The University has a strong commitment to academic and research excellence, and many of our graduate programs have an excellent national reputation. Binghamton is large enough to provide an outstanding education for all of its students, yet small enough that students work alongside faculty. Our six academic schools and colleges strive to provide individual attention to students while also allowing viable access to innovative practical experiences and research projects

Binghamton University offers more than 60 Master’s, 30 doctoral and 50 accelerated/4+1 (combined bachelor’s/master’s) degrees, plus 15 certificates and non-degree/non-matriculated coursework.

Graduate students will experience a collegiate experience like no other. Binghamton provides state-of-the-art facilities, art and musical experiences, enriching recreational opportunities, and cultural events open to people from around the world.

We understand that adjusting to a new culture is both thrilling and challenging, so Binghamton University provides our international students with as much support as possible. Binghamton is an inclusive campus welcoming students and their families from around the world.
