Services to support student success

Graduate students have access to a number of resources and services, including the Center for Teaching Excellence, Graduate and Professional Student Council, Gumberg Library, Career Services Center, Commuter Center and Office of Research. Students also take advantage of state-of-the-art exercise and recreation facilities in the Power Center.

Duquesne offers on-campus housing exclusively for graduate students. Options feature furnished or unfurnished studio or one-bedroom apartments in Brottier Hall or one-, two, or three-bedroom suites in Des Places Hall. 

Numerous off-campus rentals are available in vibrant communities close to campus, such as South Side, Oakland, Uptown, Shadyside, and Squirrel Hill.

A top research university

Duquesne University is one of 98 universities nationwide classified as a Research University/High Activity institution by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Duquesne is also one of only seven Catholic institutions in the nation and five private universities in Pennsylvania placed in the "high" or "very high" research category. 

Nearly every graduate student at Duquesne engages in research and academic discovery, and important research and scholarship is taking place in all of Duquesne's schools. Working alongside faculty who are world-class researchers and scholars, Duquesne graduate students are contributing to and benefitting from a critical mass of knowledge. A Graduate Student Research Symposium takes place each year to showcase projects. Discoveries are actively shared among public and private universities as well as with corporate and community partners, from Fortune 500 corporations to neighborhood nonprofits. Online programs provide flexibility

Duquesne offers graduate programs that are entirely or partially available online, including 

MS in Leadership, MS in Higher Education Administration, MSEd in Instructional Technology, and MS in Nursing, PhD in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).

Save 25% on tuition in select programs

Special financial awards are available for select graduate programs, providing a savings of 25% on tuition for students entering in the 2017-2018 academic year. Programs include MBA (evening format), MS Biotechnology, MA English, MS Computational Mathematics, MS Accountancy, MSEd Instructional Technology and many more. Additional competitive tuition rates are available for other programs.

Tuition rates are set by each program of study. Key types of financial assistance include graduate and teaching assistantships, academic-based scholarships, non need-based loans, employment, outside scholarships and payment plans.
