Adelphi University's Internationally Accredited Robert B. Willumstad School of Business Offers General and Specialty M.B.A. programs

Adelphi University's internationally recognized Robert B. Willumstad School of Business offers a general M.B.A. and eight specialized M.B.A. degrees in accounting, finance, health services administration, human resource management, management, management information systems, marketing and sport management.

Adelphi's Willumstad School of Business is among an elite group of five percent of the world's 13,000 business programs that has earned international accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). For prospective M.B.A. students, faculty and the international business community, the historic AACSB International accreditation is the gold standard of performance that assures quality and promotes excellence in undergraduate and graduate education for business administration and accounting.

The Willumstad School of Business is situated in the New York metropolitan area on Adelphi's beautifully landscaped campus in Garden City, New York. A nearby Long Island Rail Road train station connects Adelphi students with the world-class attractions of New York City--just 23 miles away, where Adelphi students take advantage of numerous cultural and internship opportunities.

Established in 1964, Adelphi's Willumstad School of Business combines a cutting-edge curriculum with personal attention from expert faculty in small class settings. Through case-based study and hands-on experience, the M.B.A. programs prepare students to make informed decisions, find innovative solutions, and manage with integrity and ethics.

Experienced, First-Rate Faculty

M.B.A. students benefit from a faculty of top scholars, executives and experienced entrepreneurs who share a passion for teaching. Many faculty members are award-winning researchers and experts in the field. M.B.A. course and class work are enhanced with graduate internships that give students invaluable exposure to on-the-job business situations while earning academic credit. The Executives-in-Residence program brings together M.B.A. students with business leaders, distinguished executives, government leaders and scholars during their graduate studies.

Students have the opportunity to be graduate research assistants or participate in original research and consulting projects with faculty in a wide range of business areas, such as finance, economics, taxation, management information systems and global issues.

Preparing Managers to Lead in a Global Business Environment

Adelphi University's distinguished M.B.A. serves middle-level professionals and others who want to advance their management careers. The growing complexities of a global environment require managers to be effective communicators, intellectually well-rounded, and able to understand and appreciate the impact of their decisions on society and the role that society plays in forming their decisions. They must understand the legal, environmental, technological, and social issues that can affect an organization's operations.

M.B.A. Programs in Eight Specializations

The well-rounded M.B.A. curriculum integrates contemporary management issues and business fundamentals that give students the depth and breadth of necessary knowledge and competencies.

Students can specialize in one of eight traditional areas of management or pursue a general approach by spreading their advanced elective course of study over several functional areas. Specialty M.B.A.s are available in accounting, finance, health services administration, human resource management, management, management information systems, marketing and sport management.

Accelerated M.B.A. Program

Applicants with a minimum of four years managerial experience may apply to the Graduate Opportunity for Accelerated Learning (G.O.A.L.) M.B.A. program. The fast-track format of the accelerated M.B.A. allows busy managers to obtain their graduate degree in 17 months by taking Saturday classes. The 42-credit program provides a balanced, diverse and global orientation to business education and emphasizes leadership, team building, analysis and problem-solving.

Unique Dual Degree Programs

Effective human resource management can enhance organizational performance across industries and professions. With its Advanced Certificate in Human Resource Management (ACHR), Adelphi's Willumstad School of Business offers two joint programs--the M.S.W./ACHR program with Adelphi's School of Social Work and the M.A. in General Psychology/ACHR program with Adelphi's Gordon F.
