AACSB-Accredited Master of Business Analytics

Clark's Graduate School of Management (GSOM) offers a Master of Business Analytics (M.S.B.A.) program that equips students with the skills needed for the growing field of data analysis. Coursework delves deeply into technical data analysis techniques, but also focuses on the communication and critical thinking skills that are coveted by companies worldwide. As students learn how to formulate insights, they'll gain confidence in their ability to communicate knowledge effectively to data scientists, managers, and executives. Graduates of the program will help organizations solve problems and make strategic decisions that improve organizational performance.

The M.S.B.A. is STEM-approved, providing an opportunity for international students to extend Optional Practical Training (OPT) to three years. Students interested in business analytics can take advantage of this feature to gain significant relevant work experience in the United States post-graduation.

Requirements: 11 courses, including two courses that start online in late May, followed by on-campus coursework in July. The program can be completed in one calendar year. Topics covered in the curriculum include database and data warehouse design principles, big data computing, digital marketing analytics, data visualization, as well as big data statistics.

Beyond Coursework

Experiential learning is an integral part of the M.S.B.A. curriculum. Through coursework and involvement in the community, students can effect real change. Students in GSOM have recently:

  • Made recommendations to executives of a global athletic wear and shoe brand about their wholesale store marketing efforts.
  • Analyzed the accounting information system of the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast.

Career Support

Whether interested in career advancement in a current company, changing industries, or switching careers, students work closely with the dedicated career support team in the Stevenish Career Management Center housed within GSOM.

Their graduate students are offered personalized services throughout their time, including professional development, internship assistance, and networking events. Their staff partners with students during their time to guide them in achieving their professional goals.

The MSBA advisory board consists of distinguished Clark alumni who are working in jobs and industries related to analytics. Members of the advisory board interact with students, provide career guidance and mentoring, and advise the program director about curriculum content and program design.

Accessible and Accomplished Faculty Members

All classes are taught by faculty members, not teaching assistants. They are highly regarded experts in their fields and scholar-practitioners with significant experience in analytics, leadership, marketing, finance, and corporate social responsibility. The faculty are also actively engaged in work that contributes to the theory, practice, and teaching of business management. They publish in prestigious journals, including:

  • Journal of Marketing Research
  • Journal of Consumer Research
  • Journal of Management
  • Journal of Applied Psychology
  • Information Technology and Management

Students will find GSOM faculty to be enthusiastic, highly accessible, and eager to provide them with the tools to achieve their professional goals. Students enjoy the small class sizes because of the personal attention and professional insights they gain from the faculty.

Student Professional Development and Engagement

Thanks to the Hausrath fund, which was established by alumnus, William Hausrath `53, to support student development, M.S.B.A. students can use funds to take part in educational opportunities and professional development on and off campus, including big data and analytics conferences in Boston, New York, or even across the country.

In addition, the Graduate School of Management is home to several business-related graduate student organizations, including the GSOM Student Council, Net Impact, and Clark Women in Business.

Financial Aid

GSOM offers generous merit-based tuition scholarships to qualified students. Competitive candidates for scholarships have strong academic credentials, test scores, leadership abilities and potential for professional success. All GSOM students can apply for graduate assistantships, which pay hourly wages for providing teaching and/or research support to faculty.
