The Graduate School

The Graduate School at North Carolina A&T State University offers 30 master's degree programs and 9 doctoral programs in conjunction with 7 schools and colleges. It also provides online graduate degree and distant graduate degree programs.

NC A&T also has the number 1 engineering program for African Americans.

Cutting-Edge Research at North Carolina A&T

North Carolina A&T's land-grant legacy places it in an excellent position to meet today's research challenges. It has major research programs in aviation safety, climate change, composite materials, computational science and engineering, energy and the environment, food safety, and nanotechnology.

The university also has several research centers including the NASA Center for Aviation Safety. Furthermore, it provides state-of-the-art research facilities including the Applied Survey Research Laboratory and Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanonengineering research facility.

School of Education

The School of Education at North Carolina A&T State University is committed to training outstanding educators, administrators, and counselors who are "catalysts for learning and leading."

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction prepares individuals for careers in adult education, counseling, and school administration. Available graduate programs offered are Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) programs in elementary and reading education, a Master of Science (MS) program in instructional technology, and a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program. Graduate programs in the Department of Human Development and Services focus on assessment, multiculturalism, and social justice throughout the life span. The department provides MS degrees in adult education, counseling, and school administration. Graduate programs in the Department of Human Performance and Leisure Studies include the MS in Physical Education and Health and the MAT in Physical Education and Health. The interdisciplinary Department of Leadership Studies offers a PhD in Leadership program that emphasizes innovations in knowledge systems and service delivery as well as professional practice, personal development, and societal engagement.

School of Business and Economics

The AACSB-accredited School of Business and Economics is designed to develop students'' analytical, communication, leadership, technological, and team building skills as well as their business acumen.

It provides Master of Business Administration and MAT in Business Education programs that prepare students for leadership, management, and training positions, as well as teaching careers at the middle school, high school, and college levels.

College of Arts and Sciences

The College of Arts and Sciences has graduate programs in biology, chemistry, physics, applied mathematics, social work, and energy and environmental systems.

Additionally, the college offers a Master of Arts in Teaching in English that trains students in English and the art of teaching. It also has an MA program in English and African American literature.

Master's Programs in the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences

The School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences offers Master of Science programs in agricultural education and food and nutritional science.

College of Engineering

North Carolina A&T State University's (NC A&T) top-ranked engineering program offers MS degrees in several areas including biological, chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering. It also has PhD programs in computational science and engineering, electrical engineering, industrial and systems engineering, and mechanical engineering.

The Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering

Through collaboration with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, NC A&T offers master's and PhD programs in nanoengineering and nanoscience.
