Accreditation

American Public University is part of the American Public University System (APUS), which is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (www.hlcommission.org, 312-263-0456), a regional institutional accreditor recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Faculty

The strength of the university is reflected in the caliber of its faculty, which is comprised of respected scholars and practitioners from around the world. APU has more than 500 members with doctoral degrees from leading universities. Many are widely recognized for their research and contributions in their respective fields. This includes Dr. Alan Hale (co-discoverer of the Hale-Bopp Comet), five former astronauts, senior leaders at Fortune 500 companies and senior government agency officials and officers.

Affordable Tuition

APU is committed to making quality education affordable so students can invest in their future.

Tuition Rates Per Credit Hour:

- Undergraduate: $270 | $250 for military-affiliated students*

- Graduate: $350 | $325 for military-affiliated students*

- Audit: $100

*Military-affiliated students receive a tuition grant that caps undergraduate tuition at $250/credit hour and graduate tuition at $325/credit hour. This grant is for U.S. active-duty servicemembers, Guard, Reserve, military spouses and dependents, and veterans.

In addition, their technology fees are waived for U.S. active-duty military service members, and for Guard and Reserve personnel when using military TA.

Undergraduate Book Grant

Ebooks are provided at no cost if students are enrolled in undergraduate courses for credit. The undergraduate book grant is estimated to save $250 per academic semester if registered as a full-time student.

Transfer Credits

Students can take full advantage of their transfer credit options, including credit for previous college courses and military service. Don't leave hard-earned credits behind.
