Advanced Torah Fellowship

Description

The purpose of the MFJCÔÇÖs Advanced Torah Fellowship program is to support the highest level of intensive Torah study for those who have the potential to become a Torah scholar-leader in a community or Torah institution. In order to be eligible to apply for the Advanced Torah Fellowship, one must be a qualified scholar, with SÔÇÖmicha or 5 years of post-HS study of Talmud and Halacha and have passed an exam (e.g., Rabbanut SÔÇÖmicha exams) or the equivalent (e.g., a Yoetzet Halacha program graduate). During their Fellowship year, grant recipients are expected to pursue an intensive, rigorous program of Torah learning at a Kollel, Yeshiva or Midrasha combining study and intensive research. At the conclusion of their Fellowship, grant recipients are expected to prepare a paper for publication that demonstrates significant scholarship and the capacity to connect Torah to current social and cultural issues.
