Description

Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship Program awards college scholarships are awarded to childhood cancer survivors who have demonstrated the ability to overcome the difficult challenges of cancer with determination and motivation. Forty (40) $3,500 scholarships will be awarded each academic year. The application opens every year in January and closes on March 31st. To be considered for the Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship Program, applicants must be a childhood cancer survivor under the age of 25 and diagnosed before the age of 18 with cancer or a high grade or anaplastic brain tumor and be a US citizen attending school in the US. Applicants must include the following: - Beyond the Cure Ambassador Scholarship application completed in full - Written essay about what survivorship means to you - Copy of acceptance letter (if you've received one) from the college, university or vocational/technical school you plan to attend in the fall - Written documentation from your treating physician confirming your cancer diagnosis, age and date of diagnosis and treatment status - Two letters of recommendation - Official transcripts with signature and/or official school seal (photocopies not accepted) - 2.5 minimum GPA - Brief summary of community service Recipients will be notified by phone during the first week of July. To date, the scholarship program has awarded over $1 million in scholarship money to childhood cancer survivors across the country.
