This program aims to attract outstanding U.S. researchers to work in Australia in a priority area of research that will lead to ongoing collaborative partnerships between Australia and the U.S. and develop skills and capabilities in emerging fields of science and technology. The scholar will be appointed to the Australian Defense Science and Technology Group (DST), or another Australian research institution that is linked to DST, for the relevant research program. The scholar will work on a specific research project during their term (5-6 months) and be expected to engage with faculty and students through occasional guest lectures and seminars. Geology, Information Sciences/Systems, Physics, and Public Health are also eligible disciplines. Those who are permanent residents of Australia, dual citizens of the United States and Australia, or living in Australia at the time of application are not eligible for the Fulbright Program with Australia. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree. Applicants must submit a Project Statement, a CV or Resume, and two Letters of Recommendation. A Letter of Invitation from DST is also required.
